Our Pastor

The Rev. David "Milkweed" Wotier was born on August 17, 1955 in Los Angeles California.  At the age of 12, he and his family moved to Tennessee.  He made a public profession of faith on December 10, 1972 at Hopewell Baptist Church in Springfield, Tennessee.  He answered the call to preach and was licensed to the gospel ministry in December 1974. Upon graduation from high school in 1973, he attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.  There he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1980.  In 1985 he received a Masters of Divinity/Religious Education Degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

While in college at seminary, he served several churches as Minister of Youth, Minsiter of Education, Associate Pastor and Interim Pastor, in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, and North Carolina.

Upon graduation from the seminary, he served as Minister of Education/Youth at Edgewood Baptist Church in Nicholasville, Kentucky.  There he met his wife, the former Karen York. They were married on September 6, 1986.  They made their move to Pleasant Ridge in March of 1989. Their daughter Sarah was born on October 12, 1995.
